The Breeders Toolbox will provide access to phenotype and genotype data for apple, peach, sweet cherry, tart cherry and strawberry. It is being developed using funds provided by the USDA NIFA SCRI funded "tfGDR" project, USDA NIFA SCRI "RosBREED" project and Washington Tree Fruit Research Commision "Tree Fruit Breeders Online Toolbox" project.

At the current time, the toolbox provides access to:

  1. Standardized phenotype and genotype data collected in 2010 and 2011 for 493 accessions from the RosBREED Apple Crop Reference Set
  2. Standardized phenotype and genotype data collected in 2010 and 2011 for 459 accessions from the RosBREED Peach Crop Reference Set
  3. Standardized phenotype and genotype data collected in 2010 and 2011 for 334 accessions from the RosBREED Tart Cherry Crop Reference Set
  4. Standardized phenotype data collected in 2010 and 2011 for 285 accessions from the RosBREED Sweet Cherry Crop Reference Set
  5. Standardized phenotype data collected in 2011 for 1895 accessions from the RosBREED Strawberry Crop Reference Set.

The evaluation data can be browsed; searched by name, traits, parentage; and the data downloaded as an input file for pedimap or as an excel file in wide or long format.

Private evaluation data has been added for the RosBREED Breeding Pedigree Sets and are available for the Washington State, Minnesota and New York Apple Breeding Programs; the Michigan Tart Cherry and Pacific Northwest Sweet Breeding Programs; the Arkansas, South Carolina, California, and Texas Peach Breeding Programs, all accessible within their secure group sites in GDR.

The Breeders Toolbox is being further developed to provide a Cross Planning Tool, a Seedling Selection Tool, a Pedigree Viewer and data will be integrated with other associated genomic, genetic and breeding data in GDR.
